Sheet 01For publishers

For comic, graphic novel & educational publishers

The digital edition of graphic novels. Finally worth it.

PanelWave turns backlist and new titles into premium digital editions — laid out for every screen, with motion and sound where they matter, and every language from one master. Team roles, review, translation memory and print from the same source. Your editions become an asset you own.

Your backlist, reborn for screens

Page import proposes panels and reading order; your editor confirms every cut. The dialogue is re-lettered as live text, a second language is added, and one master feeds the phone, the web reader, the big screen and print.

Value

Digital editions readers want to pay for

01

Digitise the backlist

Existing print titles become screen editions without redrawing — panels at their original positions, re-lettered as live text.
02

Premium editions worth paying for

Video panels, sound and bonus material readers unlock: character sheets, interviews, sketches.
03

Every language from one master

Translations are strings, not redraws. Co-editions and language-learning titles from the same source.
04

Print and digital, one source

A4 and US Letter layouts live next to the phone and web layouts. A QR code in the printed book opens the interactive edition.
05

Sell direct, under your name

Paywall rules per work, chapter, panel or extra; products, coupons and regional prices. Zero revenue share — reader payments launch in Q1 2027.
06

An asset you own

Titles live in an open format, the MIT player runs on your own domain, and the complete work exports as an archive any time.
Sheet 04Workflow · six steps

No custom development

From finished title to interactive, multilingual edition

Your editors, your translators, your house style.
  1. Step 01

    Import

Drop finished pages: panel detection proposes panels and reading order, your editor confirms every cut. Or start from a script or fresh artwork.

  2. Step 02

    Compose

Layers, comic balloons in your house style via reusable presets, hotspots and panel variants — on a WYSIWYG canvas with unlimited undo.

  3. Step 03

    Localize

Hand every string to your translators via XLIFF 1.2 or CSV; translation memory and glossary keep series terms consistent.

  4. Step 04

    Review

Review links that open without an account, device frames, panel-level comments and roles. The preview is the real player.

  5. Step 05

    Release

Preflight with auto-fixes, a public reader link, embed code for your site, QR codes for print, restore of earlier releases.

  6. Step 06

    Measure

Reading funnel, panel engagement, hotspot heatmaps, segments by language and device, CSV export for your editorial meetings.

Chapters, pages and panels — and a page layout per format.
The same work as an A4 print layout, with the asset library.

Co-editions without re-lettering

Balloons hold live text in ten comic balloon types and your house presets. Translators work in their own CAT tools via XLIFF; translation memory and a glossary keep a series consistent; stale flags catch source changes.

Three pilot slots

Bring one backlist title to life — and co-define the European standard

PanelWave produces an interactive edition of one existing title at no cost, including a second language and a concept that links the printed book to the digital edition. Rights remain 100% with you. In return we ask for editorial feedback, a letter of intent for a joint EU co-application, and permission to present the pilot publicly.
